We left Bran, Romania in cool weather with cloud cover. The mountain roads to the South of Bran rise to over 1250 metres and provide the twists and turns to be enjoyed on a motorbike. Some sections had heavy traffic, particularly HGV’s belching out black smoke and crawling up the steep sections.
Later on in the day we reached some flat lands that had a continuos 50 kph speed limit for 60 miles. we should all obey speed limits in build up areas, even so 50kph for this length of time is testing particularly as the the Romania cars blast past you at speed. On this section we saw more horse and carts than tractors.
It was a long day, we arrived at Giurgiu just short of the Bulgarian border, hot and tired. After some searching we found a hotel and went to the bar.
