A lot of blue sky this morning, the heat of the sun will soon take the chill out of the air. I road down the coast with a vague plan to stay near Royan. The sat nav was set to avoid toll roads so I did find a few twist roads in this otherwise flat area of France. At one point I found an unpaved section of road, it was dry although the surface had been torn up by large tractor tyres which made the surface loose, the bike was constantly thrown off line. It was over all to soon, great fun while it lasted.
On the way to Royan I took the opportunity to visit some other towns that we had enjoyed family holidays at, unfortunately all the campsites were closed.
I found a hotel on the seafront at Royan with a balcony and some great views. When I went for a run a fish restaurant caught my eye, a good choice, fresh seafood washed down with cold rose wine, a good end to the day
