Today I am heading to the West coast riding over the Haast Pass.
Before leaving Lumsden I had breakfast in an American style diner. Taking up most of the space in the diner was a shiny red Dodge car.

The ride took me along the side of Lake Wakatipu and back through the town of Wanaka.

Along the way there was an opportunity to stop off and see the Kawarau Bungy Centre. At $205.00 it’s expensive for a few short seconds of what must be absolute terror.

I had been advised to take a short detour to ride through the historic gold mining town of Arrowtown. The old wooden buildings were worth the visit.

The ride past Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka was really enjoyable with spectacular views over the bright blue water of the lakes.

A great days ride in spectacular scenery, quiet rodes and warm sunshine.
