First camping trip in Europe since 2018. Where did those 4 years go?
Tonight I am booked into a hotel at Weston super Mare and dinner at a Turkish restaurant not far from the sea front. Tomorrow the ferry from Plymouth to Santander, an easy couple of days riding so I can avoid most of the motorways and get used to the loaded bike. I went on a short test run yesterday, I wobbled out of the drive and onto the road, the bike isn’t overloaded and too heavy, it’s the balance that changes. After 5 or 6 miles I was back into a rhythm.
I am heading off with Alastair, both of us on BMW G310GS’s. I am looking forwards to a more relaxed pace, I will miss the power of my R1250GSA but I won’t be missing the 100kg more that it weights.
The plan is to ride some of the TET in Spain and into Portugal to ride the ACT
