A fellow TET and ACT rider camped next to us last night. He was riding a Yamaha T7, heading North on his way home.
The ride today was fantastic, some of the tracks were challenging, steep slopes and hairpin bends on a very loose surface. At one point we rode for 8 miles or so on a very good gravel track that you I would have been able to travel at speed, I opted for a slower option so I could take in the views. The climb over the mountains to escape the side of the lake was a challenge.
A very hot day with excellent riding that was exhilarating and very tiring, I really struggled to take in enough water to prevent heat exhaustion and dehydration.
We left the ACT at the Douro Valley and headed across the border into Spain for a campsite, yet another one that was closed. We eventually stayed in Parador, accommodation at the other end of the cost scale, in the Spanish city of Ciudad Rodrigo.
