We decided to go Santillana’s museum of the Inquisition, before heading off to join the Trans European Trail (TET). Big mistake, it was macabre and not at all pleasant, the stuff of nightmares.
A few miles south of Santillana we joined the TET and headed West, the first few hours were staight forward, a few parts that needed respect and care on bikes loaded with our camping gear. As we approached the Picos we turned onto a section that became increasingly difficult and challenging. We decided the right decision was to retrace our steps to find some tarmac and find somewhere to stay for the night.
We found a campsite at Camaleno, a good campsite with a bar and resturant.
