Another beautiful day, clear blue skies and the promise of fine weather all day.
I took the short ferry across the Gironde from Royan to Le Verdon, my plan was to ride South and stop somewhere near St Jean de Lux before heading into the Pyrenees tomorrow.
The last time I rode down this area was in 1983 on my then brand new BMW R80RT. 34 years ago the area was flat, the roads were straight and pine forest covered the land to either side of the road. Its still the same, I am really looking forwards to the Pyrenees.
I found a hotel in the centre of St Jean de Lux and wandered around a town I last visited 34 years ago.
