Austria

I set off from last nights campsite early and headed towards Innsbruck and then on towards Lake Constance. I am not a fan of motorways, although the one that goes to Innsbruck from the South has some pretty impressive mountains to ride through.
Austria has some fantastic scenery, although the traffic is busy and around the Italian border you encounter several toll booths that charged you a few Euros at each, plus I purchased the obligatory Vignette.
As I headed North to the East of Garmisch, home of the annual BMW Motorrad event, a traffic jam started. After filtering for 6 miles I reached an underpass that was too dangerous to filter in, so I turned off for a cup of tea. The lady at the hotel told me a lorry had run into an electric pylon and it would be several hours before the road was open. She suggested an alternative route that took me along some fantastic mountain passes. At a town called Reutte, still in Austria I found a campsite for the night.
