We left the campsite at Naumberg and rode a few short miles to the Eder dam, particular relevant to a resident of Lincolnshire, home of the 617 Squadron and the Lancaster bomber.
We walked across the dam, ordered an Iced Coffee and watched the world go by.
The rest of the journey, 227 miles in total, was a mixture on interesting twisty country roads and the inevitable motorways to bypass the cities. All of which was pretty uneventful, apart from the upside house, we payed 5 Euros to go inside, different!
We arrived at Colditz around 5.30pm, grateful to find the campsite and get set up for a 2 night stay. I went for my usual run to scout the area, this evenings run took me through a wooded area to the famous Colditz castle which we are visiting tomorrow.
Opened the Highland Park whisky and had a “wee dram” before bed.
