View from the 62 storey of the tallest building in Latin America It was a cloudy start to the day on Sunday, fortunately by the time I had taken the lift to the top of tallest building in Latin America it had turned into a sunny day with clear blue skies. The 360 degree view […]
Exploring Santiago
The view over Santiago from San Cristóbal Hill is spectacular. I took the cable car to the top of the hill and the funicular railway down the other side. A good visit in warm weather under a blue sky.
Santiago
An evening in a restaurant in Santiago, Chile. When we got on the plane in Madrid two Policemen were escorting an illegal immigrant back to Chile. It made for a disturbing and uncomfortable 30 minutes as he screamed his head off in protest at his forced removal from Spain.
The journey begins
Off I go for an overnight flight to Santiago, Chile. Meeting Alastair and Rob a Heathrow. We pick our bikes up at the airport on Monday and then head South through Chile and Argentina.
The bikes started it’s journey
The bike has been delivered to Motofreight and is on it’s way to Santiago, Chile. All I need to do is get my bags packed and get down to Heathrow on 8 November.
Getting ready
Mark of Mobile Bike Tyres fitting new Heidenau K60 Scout’s before I ship the bike to Patagonia. Mark’s attention to detail and the care he takes ensures he is always my first choice for fitting bike tyres.

France day 4
950 miles since leaving home. Today we are camping at Castellane so tomorrow morning we can ride up to the Verdon Gorge. Last night we camped at Aix les Bains, up early to enjoy a day riding the Route de Napoleon. A fantastic day with temperatures of 32 degrees.
Last bike trip before South America
In 6 weeks the bike is being shipped to Chile so a quick trip to France is my last chance for a few miles under the belt and get myself more bike fit. Rob stayed with me last night so we could be away at a reasonable hour to catch the 12.55pm ferry from Dover. The […]
